Crochet
By Katie Humes
Welcome to my first blog in a series
of something that is very near and dear to my heart!! My Pokémon Project!! At
the end of this series I will have designed for you all 150 original Pokémon
Characters. Today we will be making a Poké Ball that each of these characters
will easily be able to fit nice and snug inside. I'm seriously so excited
for this project!! Let's get stitchin!!
Materials
needed:
- 3.75mm hook
- Red Yarn
- White Yarn
- Black Yarn
- Scissors
- Yarn Needle
- Stitch Markers
- VELCRO circles 3/8 in
Pattern Notes: You can use any yarn
you desire, I used Red Heart Yarn for this project. The red shade I used is
called "Cherry Red" and the white is plain "White" there are a
ton of different shades of white and I didn't realize this until recently, this
is just plain old white. I crochet in continuous rounds and this pattern is
written in US terms.

Poké
Ball Assembly
Using the tail you left on the
bottom side of the Poké Ball weave around to the opposite side of the Poké
Ball. Sew both sides together using a whip stitch, you can hide your stitches
by weaving in and out and behind the black crochet stitches. Make sure to
carefully check that everything aligns exactly, taking your time sewing the red
top to the white bottom.
Sew on the Poké Button to the front
of the Poké Ball. If desired use a precut circle VELCRO to hold both sides of the Poké
Ball together. Using fabric glue fix in place
the soft fuzzy side of the VELCRO to the inside of the Poké Ball Button.Glue the rough, scratchy side to the outside of the bottom white side of the Poké Ball. Let this dry
for 24 hours.
