Clip yarn, using the yarn needle sew up the bottom of the Charmander through the front loops only creating a nice circle on the bottom of the body.
Don't clip yarn all the way off at this point. Instead weave it back up through the body to the mouth area. Using the yarn sculpting technique pull the mouth inward to create a smaller smile and a thin open mouth for the Charmander. Leave enough space for the pink felt tongue and a few teeth to be added with the embroidery thread.
Add the face details before moving on to the arms, legs, tail and body. Cut two half ovals out of the black felt for the eyes. Cut two smaller full circles out of the white felt for the tops of the eyes. Finally cut to blue crescent shapes; out of the blue felt, about the same size as the white circles for the bottoms of the eyes. Using FABRI-TAC glue the pieces together on top of the black felt. Let those pieces rest for a couple of minutes before gluing them directly to Charmander's face.
While the eyes are drying begin embroidering the other face details with the black embroidery thread and embroidery needle. I did two eyebrows and two nostrils before adding the mouth and eyes.
Cut a small pink felt insert for the mouth. Glue in place with the FABRI-TAC.
For the final face details you will need your white embroidery thread and embroidery needle. I add four teeth. Two on the bottom and two on the top. The bottom teeth are slightly smaller than the top teeth and closer to the center of his mouth. I add the teeth using the french knot technique. Insert your needle into the area you want a tooth, wrap the thread 3-5 times depending on the size you want then insert your needle back down near where the first stitch came out. Repeat that four times for your four teeth.
Arms (make 2):
Begin with the Pumpkin Orange Yarn.Round 1: 6sc into the MR (6)
Round 2: BLO 6sc (6)
Round 3-5: 3 rows - 6sc sl st (6)
Leave a long tail, clip yarn. Make 4 fingers by sewing the yarn tail back through to the hand portion of Charmander's arm. Sewing back and forth going into the same stitches make 4 lumps on the end of the arm, slip your needle through the lumps to gather the yarn to a point. Pull tight and then thread the yarn back through the arm. Attach the arm to Charmander's side. Once you sew both arms onto Charmander pull the yarn tails to the back, tie them together then hide the tails and clip and hide your extra yarn.
Tail:

Begin with the Pumpkin Orange Yarn.Round 1: 6sc into the MR
Round 2: BLO 6sc
Round 3: 6sc
Round 4: 2sc, 3inc, 1sc
Round 5-6: 2 rows - 1sc, BLO 7sc, 1sc, sl st, clip yarn
Sew both legs to the Charmander then add the three toes with the cream colored yarn. Thread your needle with the cream colored yarn, insert it directly into the center of the foot. Come out where you want the first toe to be placed. Entering the same hole you initially made thread the yarn back through the bottom of the foot repeating that same step until all three toes are completed. Finish by tying off, hiding your yarn tails and clipping the ends.
